Lawyers are required by the Federal German Lawyers\u2019 Act (BRAO) to maintain professional liability insurance with an insured sum in amount of \u20ac 250,000.00. The details are given in \u00a7 51 the Federal German Lawyers\u2019 Act (BRAO).
\nOur professional liability insurance is provided by ERGO Insurance Group, Thomas-Dehler-Stra\u00dfe 2, 81737 Munich, Germany. The geographical scope of insurance covers activities in the Member States of the European Union and it is sufficient to cover at least the minimum requirements of \u00a7 51 of the Federal German Lawyers\u2019 Act (BRAO).<\/p>\n
The company is active in the legal form of a single legal-practice company.<\/p>\n
The settlement with the client is fundamentally based on the German Lawyers\u2019 Compensation Act (RVG). As far as settlements occur otherwise, agreements pursuant to \u00a7 34 RVG (German Lawyers\u2019 Compensation Act) and compensation arrangements in accordance with \u00a7 \u00a7 3 a et. seq. RVG (German Lawyers\u2019 Compensation Act) are negotiated with the client, prior to the transfer of mandate from the client, and will be set out in writing.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that the competent Munich Bar Association maintains a conciliation board for disputes between our company and the client, in order to avoid legal disputes. Alternatively, the client can address the Ombudsman at the Federal Bar Association in Berlin with requests for arbitration. The prerequisite for arbitration is that the underlying value of the dispute is not more than \u20ac 15,000.<\/p>\n
